Privacy policy
This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use this website or contact the Employment Status Experts Forum.

Information we collect
If you use a website form, we collect the information you provide:
- your name and email address;
- your organisation;
- the contents of a contact message;
- when you request a publication, your role and area of interest, if you choose to provide them; and
- whether you have opted in to publication and Forum updates.
The website and its service providers may also process limited technical information needed to operate and secure the site, such as an IP address, browser information and request logs.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use form information to read, manage and respond to enquiries; provide requested publications; understand professional interest in the Forum's work; maintain appropriate records; and protect the website and its forms from misuse.
We rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with people who contact the forum or request its publications, administering the forum and keeping our services secure. If you actively opt in to Roadmap and Forum updates, we rely on your consent to send those emails. Where an enquiry leads to steps towards a contract, we may also process information because it is necessary to take those steps at your request. We do not use form information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who processes or receives it
Authorised people working for Re Legal Consulting Ltd and the Employment Status Experts Forum may access form submissions where needed for the purposes described above. The forms are provided by Formspree, which processes submissions on our behalf. Website hosting and infrastructure providers may process limited technical data to deliver and secure the website.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Formspree hosts its services in the United States and states that it uses Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information. Other infrastructure providers may process data outside the United Kingdom using a lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for further information about relevant safeguards.
How long we keep it
We retain a submission only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the publication, respond, deal with any resulting matter and meet applicable legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the submission and whether it results in an ongoing relationship or dispute. We retain a record of marketing consent while it remains valid and as necessary to demonstrate compliance. We then delete or anonymise the information when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, erasure or restriction; to receive certain information in a portable format; and to object to particular uses. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. To exercise a right, email info@employmentstatusforum.org.uk.
Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority. Details are available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
